We are very proud of our High Quality Teak Garden Furniture and Wooden Indoor Furniture, as we have invested heavily into our overseas furniture manufacturing, production, quality control and design.
We know that there are many 'too good to be true' Teak Garden Furniture offers on the internet so we have broken down our production process and outlined where other companies may cut corners in order to reduce their prices.
Our prices are genuinely low because we are the designers, manufacturers, importers and retail direct to the trade from our warehouse. The Wood
We only use Solid Teak tropical hard wood. The reason we only use teak is because of its hard wearing properties and that the wood is naturally high in oil content. This means it can be left outside all year round and unlike other woods, left untreated has a life expectancy of 50+ years.
Other woods often used in manufacturing wooden garden furniture with lesser life expectancy are; Eucalyptus, Courbail, and IrokoThe Manufacturing Process
We source top quality Teak without knots. The difference between our wood and the competitions' can clearly be seen when viewing the products in person.
Other companies may use cheaper poorer quality teak and white sap wood with knots, then use colouring, veneers, oils or waxes as a disguise. Over time this type of timber will falter.
Our wood is then cut and kiln dried for a minimum of 14 days to ensure an even and stable moisture content ready for manufacturing.
Other companies may not kiln dry which means that although all the furniture may look great today, but in months to come the wood may shrink, crack or split.
Our designs are well proportioned and use sufficient weights of timber. This ensures a much longer life expectancy.
Other companies may thin out the amount of timber used in their furniture so although photographs may appear the same, they are lighter weight and not as sturdy.
Our furniture is then traditionally joined, dowelled and strong epoxy resins /polyurethane glue is used on all points. Where necessary, extra screws and runners have been added and to increase strength and durability. We invest in high quality brass fixtures and fittings.
Other companies may use simply joinery techniques, cheap local glues and wood fillers to reduce manufacturing costs at the expense of longevity of the furniture. They may also buy local poorer quality brass for fixtures and fittings.
During the manufacturing process, all of our furniture is checked over by a designated team of European Quality Controllers / European trained controllers. We then fine sand all our products before packing every item individually for export.
Other companies predominantly rely on locals to check their quality who may have limited knowledge of the European market and let through sub standard products, with a coarse finish and without adequate packaging for transport, which could damage the furniture.
When the furniture arrives in our UK warehouse, each and every item is checked over again and serviced by our Master Carpenters who have had years of experience in this field.
The furniture that you receive will be fully made - no flat pack / self-assembly, and if you take advantage of our 2 man home delivery service, we will set up and install your new furniture exactly where you want it.
As with all natural wood products, even with our extensive quality control, sometimes a product will fail. In this situation, you will have piece of mind as you are covered by our 3 year structural guarantee from date of delivery*. Simply return the item to us and we repair / replace / refund at our discretion. This does not effect your statutory rights.
